Launch of the Peter Cullen Water and Environment Trust
Tuesday 17 March 2009
On the first anniversary of the death of Professor Peter Cullen, the Peter Cullen Water and Environment Trust has been launched in his memory.
Launching the Trust, on 13 March (Friday), Senator Penny Wong announced that the federal government has contributed $1 million to kick-start the Trust’s work.
The Trust has been formed to facilitate learning and informed debate to benefit Australia’s aquatic environments, especially through the activities of early career scientists.
Chairman of the Trust, Hon. John Thwaites, and Peter’s widow The Reverend Vicki Cullen also spoke at the launch at Parliament House, which was attended by several of the Directors of the Trust and invited guests.
For information about the Trust, please contact Professor Gary Jones, who is one of the Directors (firstname.lastname@example.org). The Trust is supported by eWater CRC and several CRC partners.
