The CRC for Catchment Hydrology has written a paper that explains the basics of life cycle costing in the context of stormwater quality management, and includes a 'Data Recording Sheet' to highlight those pieces of information that the CRC recommends be collected throughout the life cycle of stormwater treatment measures. This paper may be of particular interest to people interested in CRC Program 4 - Urban Stormwater Quality
The CRC for Catchment Hydrology has recently been gathering costing data for stormwater treatment measures (e.g. wetlands, vegetated swales, gross pollutant traps, etc.) from stormwater management agencies across Australia. This data will be used to build a 'life cycle costing module' into the CRC's MUSIC model, to allow stormwater managers to easily calculate approximate life cycle costs for a given 'stormwater treatment train'.
A finding during the data gathering exercise has been that many small to medium sized stormwater management agencies are seeking guidance on basic life cycle costing, and the data that should be collected to allow life cycle costing of stormwater treatment measures to occur.
To help service this need and to facilitate improved data gathering in the future, the CRC has written a paper that explains the basics of life cycle costing in the context of stormwater quality management, and includes a 'Data Recording Sheet' to highlight those pieces of information that the CRC recommends be collected throughout the life cycle of stormwater treatment measures.
