MEDIA NOTE FROM
THE CRC FOR FRESHWATER ECOLOGY
15 OCTOBER 2003

The interim report of The Living Murray Scientific Reference Panel (SRP), 'Ecological Assessment of Environmental Flow Reference Points for the River Murray System', was released today by the Murray-Darling Basin Commission (MDBC).

This is the final version of the interim report that was `leaked’ in draft form a few weeks ago.

The report released today does not change any of the draft report’s substantive findings. It incorporates minor changes to the draft, based on reviewers comments.

Professor Gary Jones, Chair of the SRP and Chief Executive of the CRC for Freshwater Ecology says ``The points made in our CRCFE media release on 29 September (`Leaked report still holds water for the River Murray’) have not changed.’’

The report’s key findings are available on the website of the CRC for Freshwater Ecology, at http://freshwater.canberra.edu.au ,
under
`What’s New’ > `Latest reports and activities’
in powerpoint format, with some additional comments and graphs.
