Perspectives on the Scientific Panel Approach to Determining Enviromental Flows for South-Eastern Australian Rivers
Peter Cottingham et al.

The usefulness, relevance, management, challenges and possible future of Scientific (or Expert) Panels were discussed at a workshop in December 2001. This technical report summarises the workshop participants' views. A Scientific Panel is a group of scientists assembled to assess the environmental flows required by a particular river or river system. Panels are usually called on by water resources managers, when there are not enough quantitative data from which to determine the environmental flows required by the river.
