eWater Source Beta v6.11: Latest update delivers new features and modelling improvements

August 18, 2026 | eWater Source

We are pleased to let our Source community know that eWater Source Beta v6.11 has now been released.

This latest release introduces a range of enhancements, new features and bug fixes designed to improve modelling flexibility, results visualisation, usability and reliability across eWater Source.

Model Algorithm Changes

Several updates have been made to improve the behaviour and flexibility of Source models:

  • Storage Routing Link travel time override: Users can now manually override the calculated order travel time on a Storage Routing Link. This provides greater control where rounding of travel times can occur at confluences, particularly when branches with different travel times join.
  • Upstream storage ordering: An issue has been resolved where a storage configured with “Do Not Order From Upstream Storages” could still have the maximum constraint of an upstream storage propagate downstream. Unmet orders will now correctly divert to a backup storage when the primary storage runs dry.
  • Minimum and Maximum constraint recorders: Recorders at the most downstream node of a system, including Environmental Flow Nodes, Minimum Flow Requirement nodes and gauge nodes, now correctly reflect constraint values configured on upstream links.

New Features and Improvements

  • New Stacked Mountain Chart – A new Stacked Mountain Chart provides another way to visualise multiple time series together within a single custom chart. Users can hover over individual components of the chart to view the associated time series and X and Y values. The chart tooltip Hint control has also been enhanced with three display options:
    • None
    • Show all
    • Show single point

These options are available across chart types where multiple time series can be displayed on a single custom chart.

  • Orders recorder update – The unused Orders recorder has been removed from the parameters list. The Orders >> Arriving at Current Timestep recorder continues to provide the equivalent information.

Bug Fixes and Usability Improvements

  • Arrange Nodes plugin – The Arrange Nodes plugin has been reworked to improve the workflow for managing schematic layouts. The plugin now opens in its own window rather than as a docked panel. The previous Save button has been replaced with Apply, allowing changes to the schematic layout to take effect immediately without requiring the scenario to be reloaded. A Close button has also been added. The plugin continues to provide options for automatically rearranging nodes based on schematic coordinates.
  • Results Manager – A crash that could occur when opening the Statistics tab for a Time recorder in Results Manager, such as Time in current spell, has been fixed. This issue affected projects using Environmental Flow Node actions with time-based recorders.
  • Command-line improvements -Command-line client/server processes can now run correctly when launched from a working directory other than the Source installation directory. Error reporting has also been improved for storage configuration issues. If a storage node configuration error causes a command-line run to fail, the error output will now identify the affected storage by name, making it easier to locate and resolve the problem.
