We mark World Water Day 2025 with our continued commitment to advance sustainable water management through our businesses and our extensive network.
World Water Day 2025 emphasises the urgent need to protect our glaciers – a key source for freshwater for communities worldwide. As climate change accelerates, unpredictable water flows in our rivers, creeks, and wetlands create growing challenges.
At eWater Group, we are committed to advancing sustainable water management through eWater Solutions and the Australian Water Partnership and our extensive network of governments, civil society, private sector, research and multilateral partners. Through this network, we are advancing sustainable, resilient water solutions that support communities – today and into the future.
💧 How we’re making an impact:
✅ eWater Solutions: Delivering science-based software and hydrological services to support water management, including eWater Source™. As Australia’s National Hydrological Modelling Platform, Source is a flexible platform which can be run under multiple scenarios testing the potential impacts of increased inflows because of glacial melt on the volume and timing of river flows under changing climate conditions. This is one example of eWater Solutions’ work, learn more about Source → https://ewater.org.au/ewater-solutions/tools/source/
✅ Australian Water Partnership: Working with a network of 250 partners, AWP has built strong relationships with governments across the Indo-Pacific region to address complex water challenges. Through partnership with ICIMOD, the key regional body for the Himalaya region, there is a strong focus on shared water resources – with 10 major rivers relied on by 1.3 billion people. Ahead of World Water Day, ICIMOD is hosting a webinar, ‘Towards regional solutions: glacial melt, water challenges, and science diplomacy in the Hindu Kush Himalaya.’ Join experts to explore actionable strategies for regional cooperation and tackle the impacts of glacial melt in this vital region.
