Research Plan

A research plan to meet national objectives and satisfy user needs

Australia’s land and water managers currently do not have the ability to predict the consequences of land use changes at catchment scale on flow, sediment and nutrient movement, and water quality.

The principal contribution of this Centre will be to provide land and water managers with the capability to predict, in an operating environment of high climatic variability, the hydrologic impacts of catchment management. The research required to achieve this must be sustained and strategic; long-term funding, and the critical mass of expertise, resources, and synergy that this Centre brings together, is essential to achieve the envisaged ‘breakthrough’ outcomes.

To meet the identified national objectives, the Centre has run six multi-disciplinary research programs:

Details for each of the research programs can be found by clicking on the appropriate program listed above.

Predicting Catchment Behaviour
Land-use Impacts on Rivers
Sustainable Water Allocation
Urban Stormwater Quality
Climate Variability
River Restoration
