The 2023-24 financial year marked a significant outcome for the Australian Water Partnership, part of the eWater Group.
Our organisation and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade were delighted to announce the confirmation of Phase 3 for the Australian Water Partnership, continuing the delivery of this dynamic and impactful international development initiative by the eWater Group.
In the last year of Phase 2, the Australian Water Partnership, led by General Manager, Sarah Ransom, managed 70 activities in 14 countries across the Indo-Pacific with the support of key regional partners including the Pacific Water and Wastewater Association, the Secretariat of the Pacific Community, the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development and the Mekong River Commission.
AWP works to support sustainable and climate resilient water management across the Indo-Pacific; drawing on the expertise and support of the Australian water sector.
In 2023-24 AWP continued deepening its partnerships with Indigenous water specialists including supporting a delegation to Stockholm World Water Week. The team was honoured to play a role in supporting the Australian contribution to a deepening conversation around Indigenous water management globally.
AWP’s work on Gender, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) continued to expand in 2023-24 with gender becoming mainstreamed across its activities to support improved sustainable and equitable water management with partners and stakeholders.
